Flower Power

Hi there!  Happy Tuesday!  How is your week going so far?  We got off to a crazy start with severe weather!  There were several tornadoes in the region last night, with quite a bit of damage.  Luckily for us, we just had the strong winds and lots of rain and lightning.  It was still pretty scary until we finally got the all clear around 12:30 AM.  They say we may get some more strong storms tonight, but I hope it won't be as bad as last night.  Especially because our friends arrive today!  Anyway, before they get here, I'm popping in to share a card I made for a couple of challenges I enjoy doing.

Here is my card:

I know!  Can you believe I've done another CAS card?  I don't know what's got into me these days!  Not much to tell you here.  The strip of patterned paper is from the GCD Studios Happiness 6x6 pad and it's machine-stitched around the borders.  The adorable image is Cute-ilicious from Tiddly Inks. I had the pleasure of watching Christy actually draw this at the Texas Coloring Retreat last month, so of course, I had to have it!  I printed it on MiC Blending Card and colored it with my Copics.  I added a bit of Glossy Accents to the ladybugs and some Stickles to the butterflies. The sentiment was a Friday Freebie from Sharon at A Piece of Heart.  You can find it here.  A few gems from my stash finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Happy Birthday

Hi there!  Happy Monday!  Hope your week is off to a great start!  We had a day of wild weather yesterday and we're supposed to get some more tonight.  Luckily no tornado warnings, at least as of now, just heavy rain, high winds and thunderstorms.  I'm popping in now to post my project in case we lose power later. I finished up a little project I was working on just for fun, although it fits a couple of challenges, too.  I love doing these pop-up boxes.  They look hard, but are actually very easy!

Here is what I made:

The pop-up base and inserts are GKD Turquoise Sea and the fun patterned papers are from the Pink Paislee House of Three Collection.  I used three cute images for the box.  They are Little Wishes, Party Present and Party Play by Elisabeth Bell for Sweet Pea Stamps.  I stamped them on MiC Blending Card and colored them with my Copics.  I fussy-cut them and added them to the box.  The sentiment is Create With TLC.  A few party present stickers from Jolee's finished my card.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

Thanks for stopping by!  We've got our BFFs coming from out of state to visit tomorrow, so as soon as I get everything in order for that, I will be around to visit.

I am entering my project in the following challenges:
Sweet Pea Stampers (birthday challenge)
Sweet Pea Stamps Friends and Fans Facebook Art Contest (anything SPS)
Digi Galore (anything but a card)

Have a great evening and see you soon!

Alcohol Markers Challenge - The Outlawz

Hi, again.  I'm back with a quick post to share my DT card for the new Alcohol Markers Challenge at The Outlawz.  Again this week, because of my schedule, I've decided to post tonight rather than tomorrow morning.  This was a really hard one, I must say.  It's our first challenge without our dear friend, Linda, and it just seems so sad and strange without her.  Anyway, it's the last challenge of the month, so as always, the theme is "anything goes" with the optional Christmas twist.

Here is my card:

Look at this!  A CAS card from me!  I know it doesn't happen very often, but it's kind of fun to do once in awhile!  I used some scraps from the Carta Bella Christmas Day pad for the pennants.  The adorable image is Fairy Bauble from Make it Crafty.  I printed it on MiC Blending Card and colored it with my Copics.  I added a bit of Glossy Accents to the holly berries, and although you can't see it well, I added some shimmer to the fairy wings with a Gold Spica pen..  I cut out the image with my Cameo and popped it up on a scalloped circle frame.   The sentiment is from a Flourishes Christmas set, I think, and it's stamped.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Copic Colors:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Hair: YR20, YR24, YR27, E39, E59

Green: YG01, G21, G94, G99
Gold: Y00, Y11, Y15, YR23

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Alcohol Markers Challenge and check out the wonderful creations from the rest of my DT sistahs.  This is your last chance to get in the running for the April prizes.  We are sponsored by Make it Crafty and we have two $10 GCs up for grabs.  One for the randomly-selected winner and a second one for someone who used a Make it Crafty image for their project!  Can I say incentive here?  Get out your favorite MiC stamp and play along this last week!

The Rose

Good evening. How have you been?  I know I don't usually post this late, but I didn't feel much like crafting or blogging today. I decided to plod on anyway.  My heart is so heavy.  I learned this morning that my design teammate and sweet friend, Linda Palmer, passed away unexpectedly yesterday.  Many of you probably know Linda from her blog, Facebook page, design team work and her active participation in the online crafting community.  She was a very kind and caring person, who only had nice things to say to, and about, everyone.  She was always encouraging everyone around her and she was a positive presence everywhere she went.  There was nothing Linda loved more than her family and my thoughts and prayers are with them during this sad time.  Personally, I will miss her very much.

In honor of Linda, here is my card for today:

My center-step card base and mats are GKD Innocent Pink and the patterned papers are from the Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings 6.5x6.5 pad.  The beautiful image is Rose Fairy from AuroraWings.  I printed it on MiC Blending Card and colored it with my Copics and a few ProMarkers and Spectrum Noir pens.  I added pale pink glitter to all the little bubbles, but it's hard to see the sparkle in the photo.  I added lots of Wild Orchid Crafts roses around the base.  A pink satin bow and a few pink pearls from my stash finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the image:

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be around to visit as soon as I can.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:
Aurora Wings Challenge #2 (monochromatic)
Love to Create #112 (monochromatic and ribbon)
Addicted to Stamps Challenge #80 (Fancy folds)
Loves Rubberstamps Challenge #100 (fancy folds)

Have a nice evening and see you tomorrow for my Little Miss Muffet DT post.

Hope

Good afternoon!  Happy Tuesday!  How's your week going so far?  It has been raining here today so it was a good day to stay in and catch up on a few things.  Mostly, I've been working on upcoming DT projects, but I managed a little time to make a card "just because".   It fits with a couple of challenges I enjoy doing, so that's even better.

Here is my make:

My card base and mats are SU Blush Blossom and the patterned paper is frm the Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings 6.5x6.5 pad.  The beautiful image is Rosalee from Delicious Doodles.  I printed her on MiC Blending Card and colored her with my Copics.  I did something I don't think I've ever done before.  I added flowers over the flowers in the image after I'd colored it.  I was looking for some added dimension.  Not sure if I would do it again, but I do like how the roses stand out.  They are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  A sheer double-loop bow and a few pearls finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Thanks for stopping by!  I have some DT comments to do and then I'll be around to visit for fun.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:
Delicious Doodles #84 (pink for breast cancer awareness)

My card base and mats are SU Pool Party and the patterned papers are from the Webster's Pages Plum Seed collection.  I printed the sweet image on MiC Blending Card and colored it with my Copics.  I added some Ice White Pearl Pen accents to the spots on the mushroom for some dimension and Buttercup Liquid Pearls to the flower centers.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  A diecut scalloped frame, a lace doily and a few pearls from my stash finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

You're An Angel

Hi again!  I hope you had a wonderful Easter!  It was a gorgeous day here and we had a nice day, although bittersweet, being the first Easter without my Mom.  I miss her very much. Anyway, I am back with a really quick post to share a card I made for the Kraftin' Kimmie Customer Creation Competition over on the Kit and Clowder site.  All you had to do was create a project using any Kraftin' Kimmie stamp.  This is also for the Wonderful Wednesday Share to Win on the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog which was also "anything goes" with a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp.

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Baja Breeze and the patterned paper is from the Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings 6.5x6.5 pad.  The sweet image is Felicity Angel from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps.  I stamped her on MiC Blending Card and colored her with my Copics.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  Some dyed seam binding and a few Wild Orchid Crafts flowers finished my card.
